What To Do Before You Get A Weave On

What do you do before you get a weave on? I'm answering more questions that pop up every now and then as someone who dabbles in extensions a lot. Here are my tips for you.

**Chelate or Clarify your hair before you weave up. Getting rid of build up on the scalp and hair will ensure that you don't have itchy scalp within days of installation. When you allow your dirty hair to be braided, you are only creating a breeding ground for bacteria too.
***Do a protein treatment whether mild, medium or hard. This strengthens your hair for the tension from the cornrow beneath the weave. Also, you give the hair the nourishment you can't provide when it's weaved up. Even if you wash your weave and the hair under the weave, the products won't penetrate as much as when your hair is lose.
***Get a braid spray or make your own. This is to keep your hair moisturized under the weave. It's better to have it on hand prior to getting the weave so you can start the moisturizing process as soon as possible.
*** Soak the hair in vinegar diluted with water if possible to kill bacteria in the hair and also get rid of chemicals in the hair that can irritate your scalp like I've experienced before.
***Less tension in the cornrows and your edges. You don't want to end up struggling to regrow your edges like me.

That's the bit I can share about preparing your hair for a sew in or weave on. All the best!

How I make forever Clair Skin care products work for me

I've heard ladies complain about the forever Claire Skin care products  not working for them. Well, I nearly became one until I tweaked how I use it and since then, it's been a jolly good ride. I started using the Forever Claire products in July 2013 or so. What I've been doing is to using a cleanser first before applying any of the products. Well, I discovered the reason why the product didn't seem to be working well on its own. When using the cleanser, I'll dab a bit of cotton in it to clean my face. Apparently, it wasn't the cleanser that was doing the work, it was the cotton. The cotton was getting rid of dead cells by acting as an "exfoliating" material. It was cleaning the skin surface. One evening, I skipped the cleansing and decided to follow Hubby's method of cleaning his face. I used my sponge to gently rub the FC product on the face. This face scrubbing technique left my skin feeling soft and smooth just like when I use the cotton and cl...

The 60 Seconds Skin Care Rule

The 60 seconds rule regarding washing your face is a great technique that has been used by a lot of skin care addicts.  When washing your face, the one trick that can make a lot of difference in your skin is washing for 60 seconds! Once you apply your facial wash/cleanser/soap, you massage or sweep it around your face for 60 seconds. This allows the cleanser to penetrate the pores and clear the dirt off your skin. All the make up  can also be easily absorbed by your cleansing oil too. I began doing this technique a few weeks ago and it's definitely helped improve the feel of my skin after cleansing.  (check shop.ghanaianemprezz.com for all skin care products)
