Making Use of Carrots To Grow Your Hair

I vividly recall the days of vegetable stew or fried rice. But using carrots is  not limited to internal use; it can also be used for external purposes specifically in hair care.

Hot Oil Treatment:
Ingredients:
2 Carrots
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
  1. Juice your carrots in a juicer or blend the carrots in as little water as possible.
  2. Strain the carrots.
  3. Warm up the honey olive oil and vitamin e oil in a saucepan.
  4. Add this mixture to the carrot juice.
  5. Apply mixture to damp hair, coating it completely from root to ends.
  6. Cover with a plastic cap and leave in your hair for at least an hour or as long as you have the time (overnight will yield great results.)
  7. Wash the mixture from the hair, preferably with a sulfate free shampoo and then rinse well.
Deep Conditioner
Ingredients
1 large carrot
1 banana
1/3 cup honey
1/4 olive oil
  1. Boil a pot of water and add a carrot. Continue boiling until the carrot is soft and easily penetrated when speared by a fork.
  2. Cut the banana and the boiled carrot into small pieces.
  3. Toss the cut up carrot and banana into a blender and puree. It is important to make sure they are well blended. If there are still chunks in the mixture, they will dry in your hair and become difficult to wash out.
  4. Warm the honey to make it lighter to mix with other ingredients
  5. Pour the banana and carrot mixture into a bowl and stir in honey and olive oil.
  6. Massage the mixture into your hair, coating it completely. Cover with a plastic cap. Leave the carrot-banana conditioner in your hair for at least 45 minutes or up to 8 hours, if you have the time.
  7. Wash the mixture out of your hair. Shampoo and rinse well to avoid sticky residue from the honey.
Homemade Carrot Oil
Ingredients:
2 Carrots
Peeler
Food processor or grater
Olive, almond or coconut oil
Crock pot/burner
Strainer
Glass jar
  1. Peel the skin of both the carrots with the help of a hand peeler.
  2. Next, grate them by hand or simply blend them in a food processor. The procedure does not really matter, the end result should be just grated carrot.
  3. Put this grated carrot in a crock pot and pour some oil of your choice, make sure that the grated carrot is covered properly with oil. Out of all the oils, it is ideal to use coconut or olive oil.
  4. Cover up the crock pot and cook them at a very low flame. This will make the carrots settle down at the bottom and get soaked in the oil properly. Once they are soaked, the carrots will become soft and the oil will be orange in color.
  5. Transfer these contents into a mesh strainer and strain the oil. Transfer the oil into a nice glass jar
  6. Cover the jar with a tight lid and store it in a cool place, or even in the refrigerator. Use until needed.

Placenta In Your Hair

Placenta or the popular brand, Placentyne leave in treatment has been with us for ages!  Keratin, which hair is made of, is a strong protein that can break down with sun exposure, wind, pollutants, daily maintenance, manipulation, heat tools, and chemical treatments like permanent color. This is where using protein treatments come in to help temporarily repair the hair strands. Protein treatments are used to add strength and resiliency to damaged hair by attaching hydrolyzed proteins directly to the hair follicle and hardening the cuticle layer. If there are holes in the hair cuticle, it will fill those holes or gaps while also placing a barrier around the hair shaft to lessen further damage. Most protein treatments are conditioning treatments. They can come be a deep conditioner, light, or reconstructor (heavy) (source:https://www.naturallycurly.com)  This placenta for hair acts as a protein reconstructor! How To choose The Ordinary Vitamin C Serum

If you missed the post on the types of vitamin C serums carried by The Ordinary, then, just go through it and come back to this. Paula's Choice and The Ordinary seem to have a lot in common when it comes to formulations and I love that! Let's start with the highest form which is the L-ascorbic acid. This is found in the The Ordinary Vitamin C silicone and vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%.   Much like our Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% formula, this product also offers a suspension but in light silicones for a smooth, non-gritty skin finish. Despite the very light forms of silicones used, silicones do impair dermal exposure to Vitamin C slightly but the additional (30%) concentration of Vitamin C helps compensate for this slight inefficiency. A very strong tingling but non-irritating sensation is expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use until the skin's tolerance to such high exposure is elevated. If desired, this formula can be diluted in a cream base pe...
